Steeltown Playboys
Blues & Originals
Thursday, 5:30pm

The Steeltown Playboys create a vintage Chicago blues sound evoking the vibe of Chess Records or a juke joint on Beale Street with thumping bass, searing slide guitar, grooving drums and steamy sax. They are guaranteed to have you singing along and dancing in your seat. Lindsay Pugh is a blues and jazz guitarist based in Sault Ste. Marie. He has appeared at the Ottawa Blues Festival, Buddy Guy’s Legends in Chicago and the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee. He has also shared the stage with Pinetop Perkins, The Kinsey Report and J. Geils. Marshall Jaaskelainen is a multi-instrumentalist and sideman in groups such as The Wild Turkeys and Dustin Jones and the Rising Tide.  He has toured throughout Canada and the USA and has shared the stage with Corb Lund, Fred Eaglesmith and Ronnie Hawkins. Cliff Alloy is a talented drummer and percussionist based in the Sault. Cliff has performed locally and toured with Big Wheel and the Spokes, Al Wood and the Woodsmen, Jay Case and the Aces and Odd Man Out. Special Guest, Josh Norling is Sault Ste. Marie’s premier saxophone player and educator. Josh has recorded and performed with Frank Deresti and the Lake Effect, Big Wheel and the Spokes and the Sault Symphony Jazz All Stars.
